Sr. Manager/Assoc. Director, Research Program Management

Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong partnerships with key cross-functional stakeholders and work with them to shape the overall strategy, goal setting & successful execution of research-stage projects
  • Assist with translating high-level research plans into specific activities for functions
  • Drive cross-functional research teams to achieve milestones and goals
  • Develop and ensure alignment of cross-functional plans (i.e. timelines, budget, resource plans, risk assessment, program milestones, goals and contingency planning) with the research teams and internal stakeholders
  • Identify bottlenecks, surface issues, and proactively drive for their resolution
  • Ensure comprehensive, high-quality, and proactive communications of program information to Sr. Management and the program team, in order to achieve clarity of program goals, progress and issues
  • Proactively seek out opportunities for process improvement (e.g. meeting structure, information storage, dashboards, etc.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field; Masters or PhD in a scientific field a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management & coordination
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and managing interactions between internal team members
  • Highly collaborative team player who fosters open communication and facilitates mutual understanding and cooperation between all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Experience providing support to technical teams in drug development
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to critically and objectively interpret and evaluate scientific and competitive, business related information
  • Prior experience in the gene therapy field and rare diseases are a plus
  • Knowledge of regulatory and business requirements are a plus
